How is ProfPrep different from UWorld?
UWorld is excellent for traditional MCQ practice with a large static question bank. ProfPrep is purpose-built for NGN — the format that now makes up 50% of the NCLEX. The two tools are complementary, not competing. ProfPrep is also 90% cheaper for 6-month access.
GoodNurse has AI tutoring and costs $60. Why pay more?
GoodNurse uses AI to explain static question rationales. ProfPrep uses AI to simulate NGN clinical reasoning — guiding you through 4-stage unfolding scenarios the way NCLEX actually tests. That's a meaningfully different capability, not just a price difference.
Does it have enough questions to study with?
Questions are AI-generated fresh every session — so you'll never see the same question twice. There's no fixed bank to exhaust. You can drill the same topic 20 different ways and get a different clinical scenario each time.
What are the daily limits and why do they exist?
Limits exist to keep the platform sustainable — each AI interaction has a real cost. Standard limits: 8 scenarios, 15 exam sets, 10 study guides, and 40 tutor messages per day. These reset at midnight. Most students never hit the limits in a normal study session. If you're in crunch mode, add-on packs double your limits.
What does the Socratic Tutor actually do?
Instead of answering your question directly, the tutor asks you questions — "What would you assess first? Why does that matter? What's the pathophysiology?" It builds your clinical reasoning from the inside, not by memorizing answers. After working through a problem together, it gives a clear NCLEX-style summary.
How does the Custom Scenario Builder work?
Type any patient description — age, diagnosis, chief complaint, relevant history — and ProfPrep builds a full 4-stage NGN unfolding case around it in seconds. It's particularly useful for targeting your weak areas or recreating clinical situations from your nursing practicum.
Is this a subscription? What happens after 6 months?
No subscription. You pay once for 6 months of access. There's no auto-renewal. If you need more time after 6 months — though most students will have taken their exam by then — you can purchase an extension.
Can my nursing program buy seats for students?
Yes — institutional licensing starts at $20/student per semester with bulk pricing available. Includes faculty access and can be integrated as a course supplement. Contact us at support@profprep.ai for a quote.
